HSR FIVE (5) DAY REFRESHER COURSE DESCRIPTION

Our five day Health and Safety Representative Course will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to enable you to fulfil the role of a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in Queensland, as set down in section 72 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

 

Elected HSRs in Queensland are encouraged to complete this Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) approved HSR course, within the first twelve (12) months of being elected and are also entitled to attend refresher courses at twelve (12) month intervals. 


HSRs must complete this course to allow them to perform additional HSR powers and functions as outlined in the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

 

COURSE CONTENT
Day 1 Interpreting the WHS legislative framework and identifying key parties and their legislative obligations and duties
Day 2 Establishing representation in the workplace under the WHS Act
Day 3 Effective Consultation – Participation in issue resolution and monitoring risk controls as a HSR
Day 4 Monitoring PCBU’s management of Work Health and Safety – Workplace inspections, recording findings and ‘notifiable incidents’
Day 5 Issuing Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) and directing the cessation of unsafe work

FEES & CHARGES

​Due to controlled overheads we offer this course for a very reasonable fee. Our price to deliver this course ranges form $550.00 to $650.00 depending on the size of the group.

HSR ONE (1) DAY REFRESHER

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The one (1) day Health and Safety Refresher course is designed for elected Health and Safety Representatives and Deputy Health and Safety Representatives. This HSR refresher is a one (1) day course which allows people to gain recertification as a HSR, to keep training current.

 

COURSE CONTENT
Session 1 WHS framework, WHS terminology and duties
Session 2 Consultation, Participation and Representation
Session 3 Consultation and issue resolution as a HSR and HSC member
Session 4 Managing risk and notifiable incidents
Session 5 Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and ceasing unsafe work

PRE-REQUISITE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should be currently elected HSRs, Deputy HSRs under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
