Our Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation qualification reflects the roles of individuals who perform mainly routine tasks and procedures, using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge, and taking some responsibility for the quality of the work outcomes. This qualification is a pathway qualification and will prepare an individual to successfully undertake a sector specified Certificate III from the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this qualification can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors. Relevant information must be sourced prior to application of the qualification.
Civil Construction Worker;
Small Mine Operator;
Open Cut Miner; or
Open Cut Coal Miner.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, prior to enrolment students are required to provide their Unique Student Identifier, photo identification and meet the language, literacy, and numeracy requirements.
Upon successfully completing this qualification, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:
Understand the processes involved in starting a career in the civil construction, mining or quarrying sectors;
Understand workplace health and safety;
Risk Management, planning and preparing; and
How to operate hand and power tool equipment safely.
The course is delivered at venues throughout Queensland. The program requires face to face attendance, project work and both theory and practical activities and assessments. Participants have up to 12 months to complete all required work.
